Message from the ARP Moderator

Greetings from your Moderator! As the month of July has just begun, I thought it wise to put forward the monthly emphasis as approved by our General Synod last month. The July emphasis is:

July – Jesus’ Prayer for You: “This is eternal life” - Knowing Jesus, Growing in Grace - John 17:3

And not coincidentally, “Knowing Jesus, Growing in Grace” is the Theme for the Year as well. (2 Peter 3:18)

I humbly ask every ARP minister, elder, church member, Presbytery, and Session to take time this month at home, in meetings and in worship to consider Jesus' high priestly prayer in John 17. Verse 3 of this chapter was the most preached verse by the Puritans and is one to memorize: "And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent."

As we are always about celebrating our “connectedness,” let us connect this month in meditating on the glorious care and love our Lord and Savior demonstrates in this prayer to His Father and Our Father.
